Our company is switching from Solid Edge to NX shortly. Currently there is an option in Solid Edge, called Properties Manager, which will bring up the properties (attributes) for that part or draft. It then brings up any linked files to it as well. So if you open the properties manager for the draft of an assembly it will open up a matrix with a row for the draft, a row for the assembly, and rows for every part in the assembly’s BOM. The columns are interchangeable allowing from anything from the date of creation, author, and description, to all of the properties (attributes) you would use in your draft. This matrix can be copied into excel where pre-written functions manipulate the information. In short there is no typing when editing your properties (attributes), excel does it all for you.
We have found that we can export the attributes from the Select Part Properties, but can't edit them at all. Is there any easy way to edit a part’s attributes in NX without having to enter them in line by line?
(attached is the file we use to manipulate the properties, don't know if it will help explain or just be more confusing)
