I am looking for a list of Hydrocarbon based Solid Polymers, where I can select materials with low melting points (below 60°C) and a relatively low Heat of fusion...maybe less than Paraffin wax for example. I want to select a material to be used as a binder with other powdered materials and have it settle as a solid.

Obviously I am not a chemist so does anyone have any suggestions of materials to start with or where to find a data base.

Thanks,

karlb

The _CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics_ should contain a looonnnggg list of organic compounds, along with their melting points. Should also have a (somewhat shorter) list of compounds arrayed solely by melting points. I say "should have" because I only know for sure about my copy, which is a quite old edition, and YMMV re the latest version.

I have always had troubles finding what I want with NIST, but they are a good resource too. Matweb.com is another site I use for finding specs, like MFI.
