hello everybody
I am using sap2000v14.2.0 for the analysis of a simple deep deam, it is possible to use shell element for a 3-d analysis? the programm has an option for shell section type but nothing is mentioned on the manual.
this element will have 8x6 dof on every element?
and why someone will use a 2-d shell instead of 3-d shell analysis? as most of researchers do, since every structure has 3-d and the brick element will give a better simulation of the bevahior.
thanks for you time
joe
