i heard a lot of people are talking about solid works 2001, but for me MDT5.0 or 6.0 is very good program for 3D system. i have no problem at all using it. With SW2001 there are still some tool such as assembly it's not smart enough as MTD.
With MDT i can create multiple parts in one draw, but with solid work 2001 i have trouble with it.
May be i don't know much about SW, so i can't make 2D easy as i do in MTD.
any suggestion to create multi-parts in one draw?
thanks

ps: it's said that autodesk will discontinue MTD, is it true?? if it's, i'm sorry to hear about that. i love to use MDT, and it's my very power tool to do my mechanical job.

In SolidWorks it's very easy to create a 2D drawing with multiple parts. All you have to do is instert the model view you need into your 2D drawing.

As for the other comments of MDT, I couldn't tell you. I've only used SolidWorks for past 5 years. "Happy the Hare at morning for she is ignorant to the Hunter's waking thoughts."
