Hello all,
Just wondering if there is any compatability between SW and SE? I have a small project that requires the work to be done in Solid Edge so I was wondering if the work could be done in SW and then converted to SE somehow? Suggestions Welcome, and thanks.

The work can be converted in such a way that the SolidWedge users will be able to open it... but they won't be able to edit it as a native file. The files will need to be exported in a neutral format like parasolid, iges, stp etc and imported into SE.

Pretty good with SolidWorks

If the work is required to be done in Solid Edge I guess it's because they want to be able to use the models? If so There is no shortcut except working with SolidEdge. Unless they can get away with Synchronous Technology for small modification I strongly suggest using SE.

Are drawings involved?

The killer with any translation I've ever seen is that the links between models and drawings get broken so that the drawings are no longer associative.

I'd suggest asking the contracting agency if what you propose is acceptable.

I'd be big time PO'd if I'd paid for a Solid Edge pack and someone gave me a converted SW pack, but maybe that's just me.
