Solidworks Drawing Templates??

I am trying to set up a J-size template for our drawings and am haveing problems wiht being able to resize the template I want to be able to set the size from 48" to 96" long. I have it set up so I can do this but the text doesnt move with the rest of the Titleblock. Does anyone know how to link text to lines or objects?? I had one thought that if I could reorient the papersize so that it would resize the drawing from right to left that I could set the text onto a layer and turn off the unwanted text but I am not sure how to do this or if it is possible. Any help I can get in this manner would be greatly appriciated.

I tried dimensioning to text property with no luck. What we have done is to make a different template for each drawing size. This works well because we only have a couple of templates. You did not say if you are using properties for your title block information. If you are all ready using properties for your title block information please forgive me, but maybe the following will help others. Please do not use text for your title block information. Our drafting department did this for all our AutoCAD drawings and we could not link anything to our new PDM. On the SolidWorks template, edit sheet format, use properties to control your information. For the drawing or file number you would put $PRPSHEET:"SW-File Name". For title you could put $PRPSHEET:"Description". Then in your part model that controls the drawing set your properties to the Description’s name. Your drawing will change to suit. If you ever start using a PDM, or what to change your template logo, or do a host of other things, properties will make it easier.

My suggestion is to make one in another CAD program like AutoCAD and DXF it into SW. I did this at my other job and work out very well. You may have to adjust it in say AutoCAD before bring it into SW. You will see what I mean if you do this.

I link the text by clicking on the link tab. If you go to the properties of the text you can click on the button (with the chain on it) which is "Link". There you can arrow down and pick out a custom propertery or anything you make specific. As for PDM software I have never used before.....
