Are you buying it for you or for a company?

The video card is one of the most important aspects when buying a computer to run SW. It should be supported. You can find a list on the SW website of the supported video cards.
Since the company bought my laptop I requested this Dell 7760 Precision
i9-11950H @ 2.6Ghz
64GB Ram
Nvidia RTX A3000
1TB SS drive

This unit is a couple of years old but I still have no problem using it for everything I need.
There is also an FAQ in this forum. It is older, but should still have some valid suggestions.

I buy the laptop for myself.
Nothing fancy. Use for SW basics training.
A SW student copy will be downloaded on it.....

Look at Dell refurbished machines they might have a good deal on a laptop that will last for several years running SW. If I were buying one for myself that's where I would first look.

Do check out the SW website for system requirements and please be sure your video card is supported or you could have some serious problems that you cannot get around. Problem with a laptop is you cannot just change out the VC as easy as you can a desktop.
