Ok, so I have seen a few threads on this but I am yet to find one with a solution and refuse to believe this can not be fixed. I am working at a Co. that has used AutoCAD 2000 to make drawings of mechanical parts. I was recently hired for my abilities in Solidworks 2010(I have some Acad exp. but mainly arch.).
Problem is, when I use "save as" to export to .dwg, the first sheet in my SW drawing becomes all lines in Acads "model" space. Then, if a second sheet is present, it migrates to sheet 1 in Acad. I later tried to seperate the sheets by checking the "save all sheets to seperate files" box. There has to be a better way. Ideally, all ISO views of the solid should migrate to "model space" in ACAD with sheet 1 in SW migrating to sheet 1 in Acad. Is there a conversion program anyone knows of? Is there a work-around for this? I know that some of my layer issues can be resolved by using a SW to Acad "map" (i.e. all lines being on "0" layer in Acad etc). Any help is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have spoken with Hawk Ridge Systems (largest SW retailer) on the matter and they had no resolution to the problem
.

Here is a link to a recent thread on the SolidWorks forums. Unfotunately, there wasn't a resolution there either.

ZenDen,

There is no solution because what you are seeing is the way SolidWorks has coded the Save As dwg to work. It is working as expected.

You may be able to get someone to write some custom code for you. Not sure if what you wish to do is possible through the SolidWorks API. Best to ask in the API sub-forum over at the SolidWorks forum.
