Hi, everyone.

I know versions of SolidWorks are not backwards compatible, i.e. SolidWorks 2011 files cannot be opened with SolidWorks 2010, but I wanted to know if files between different service packs (SP) are. So, would I be able to open, for example, a SolidWorks 2011 SP3.0 file with SolidWorks 2011 SP0.0, or do I need the exact same version and SP?

Thanks.

AFAIK, SW is backwards compatible across SPs for a given version.

Yes, you can open files in the same year from future service packs, but you can't expect the same functionality from a future service pack version.
