The link is to a Solidworks tutorial geared toward surfacing organic components. It is meant for novice users, but has some reasonably advanced features. (actually it was geared to dorks who insist that Solidworks is no good for surfacing) If anyone can help me by trouble shooting the uploaded SWX file to see if they go along well with the tutorial I would appreciate it. This is my first Solidworks tutorial so please forgive any lack of clarity. Any opinion would be appreciated
Pg 1 has the sldprt file and is kinda boring because it deals with house keeping and initial setup. Pg 2 onward gets to be a little more interesting. Hope this is helpful. Thanx in advance

Nice!

Well- It was easier to do for one thing. I am not too familiar with video capture software, nor with Solidworks Animator. How do you make video tutorials SBaugh? (Actually a regional manager from Solidworks has the finished file and is in the process of making a video when he finds the time.)

macPT- Thanks

I use Camtasia. It's easy to use and you can edit the film after it's made. You can add note balloons, Voice, Cut out section if you need to... it's an awesome application and it's will worth the cost.

If you had a cleaner broke down version without all the posts in between I might try it myself... When I found the time.

NICE tutorial!! Great rendering!! This definately needs to be made accessable to more people.

I just added some extra info on how to model the ribs with the deform feature. If anyone here has downloaded the beginner files to have a quick peek, can you tell me if it worked smoothlyor email me about finnicky features please? It is helpful to know what ambiguities exist to do a better job next time. Thank you

FYI below for Advanced Photoworks users:

Although we heard at Solidworks World that Photoworks will have depth of field capabilities (and a CAMERA!!!!) the following is a method I use in Photoworks to simulate depth of field in Photoworks and Photoshop. Cant wait to try out all the new features!

PS Did anyone here attend the Photoworks Advanced session?

I wanted to but hit the PDM Works session instead. I have to say the new camera and decal features in SW/PW 2006 are going to be a HUGE help to me!

Amen- Looks like Animator was getting an overhaul too. It will be nice to finally do a flythrough under a roof
