Hi,

I have been searching and searching for a way to 'link' a custom property to the dimension named 'length' on the part I have added to the toolbox.

I've created a new level-3 folder under BSI --> Timber --> Structural. I have named a dimension "length" in the part.

In the toolbox configuration options 2 - Customise Hardware, I created a Custom Property called Length of type Textbox.

How do I 'link' this Custom Property value to the length dimension so when I drop the hardware item into the assembly, I can enter the length dimension and it set the correct dimension?

Any pointers would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks

W

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I've read up on smart components, but this seems for an assembly.

I suppose what I am trying to recreate is the length property similar to the structural steel toolbox component.

Any other ideas?

Many thanks.
