Soloflex rubber bands???

Does anyone on here know what the soloflex rubber bands are made out of? I am assuming it is a type of rubber and after looking at a couple I am thinking that it is compression molded. We have a project and think that something similar to one of those rubber bands would work for it. I have done some looking on the web and found that they are possibly made out of polytrimethylene terephthalate??? We are thinking that this can be molded in a strap form, with the same nylon inserts that we see on the current bands. Any input on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
