I am using COSMOSWorks 2006 and is running an analysis on a welded structure. I get the error message when I run the solver " No element group is defined" The meshing looks good and COSMOS meshes without any problems. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks
JP

Are you using the solidworks welds? From my experience with FlowWorks, and I'd figure Cosmos as well; the welds dont really exist. You might have to just fillet or draw geometry to simulate your welds.

No welds itself, only the structures. I did a re-draw on my structure and meshed and ran a analysis with every component I added (Very tedious). Now it works?????
Thanks for the info.

Make sure that material properties are assigned to each part. I had a problem where I was modeling fused quartz with the CTE of 0.4e-6/K. When imported from SW to Cosmos the CTE value was set at 0.0 and I got that error message. I had to set the value from within Cosmos and it ran ok.
