Hi All,
I'm running Pamcrash explicit and require faster solves. I have a dual core, 64bit, 3.2ghz, 3Gig, system. I'm told i get get an additional software token for 10K+ to enable SMP runs.
Does anyone know a workaround to enable the second processor to work with the solver?

thanks for the help

Hi,
there may perhaps be a workaround: IF you can, make your processor work as a single-cored one (should be a matter of BIOS settings). With the P4, it was possible (disable hyperthreading etc), but I'm not so sure it can be done with the latest processors. The architecture has changed for CoreDuo and what was only a "trick" with the P4 (which was really single-core and "divided itself" in a very fictitious way if hyperthreading was enabled) becomes to be much more similar to a "real" double-processor system, so I don't know...

Regards
