Hi Guys,

I am doubt gold plated C-276 on transmitter sensor diaphragm requirement for sour water stripper application.. does this really require?
My understand Hydrogren permeation only happen for service on hydrogen gas on high temp. and high pressure. According to my process sour stripper process it only involve H2S + H2O = Acid (maybe some H+), CO2 + H2O = Acid (some H+)...but they cannot advise the concentration of H+... due to this appear. My vendor advise to go for gold plate transmitter...

I am not sure about how accurate was this.. Anyone have experience design instrument specification for sour water stripper process? Please help me yea...thanks in advanced..

I have never heard of gold-plated instruments, and particularly not in SWS applications. SS 316 should be more than sufficient.
