Simple question - is the Space Launch System being designed man-rated from the get-go, or will this happen later down the road? Anyone in the know?

Since 2010, it's been in the mission planning for astronauts to ride it. see

If the Constellation program had not been cancelled in the Spring of 2010,
the Ares I would be delivering astronauts and cargo to the ISS at this time.
