Space mouse pro button mapping

Hello all, I have a space mouse pro and want to program the keys for simple functions I use regularly and I seem to be too unable to even get close. For example can I not program a button to insert an annotation such as a hole call out to button #1 or insert a center mark to button #2. I know I have done this in the past.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need to create a macro for some commands and then assign the macro to the button.
