Special License required for utilizing Teamcenter / NX Options and Variants?

Dear Teamcenter / NX Specialist,

we want to start with configurable CAD models and BOM structures in our Teamcenter Environment. Do we need a special license to enter the area of "Variant and Options" or is this functionality a Feature, provided by Teamcenter as default?

Product configuration author is needed.
tc 8.3 requires also access lics.

Later team enter version might not require access lics
