specification for 1 up to max 3 threads - windings above the nut 1

Dear, ''normal'' we use 1 till max. 3 threads / windings above the nut, for / under normal conditions. But in which specification ASME, DIN, API etc. is this been noted. I can't find it, your help is wanted.
