Specification for Electrical Engineering drawings?

Is there a specification that covers electrical engineering drawings? We use ANSI Y14 for our mechanical stuff. The reason I ask the question is that our electrical guys are making cable drawings and they are showing a view of the connector at each and of the cable and labeling each view as "front". I contend that one view is "front" the other has to be "rear" or back" per ANSI Y14 drawing standards governing orthographic projection.

Draw the cables with a bend so that all the connectors face the same way. Problem solved (?).

I found that ASME covers cable assembly drawings ref. ASME Y14.24-1999 section 13.2.3.

Its not really a problem but more of a "one day we are supposed to do things per standard" then the next day its do it like this because I said so and refering to specs that don't exist. I think I've found all I need but would still be curious if anyone knows of a drawing standard specific to electrical drawings that supersedes or contradicts ASME Y14 which is pretty much the bible of engineering drawing practices as far as I'm concerned.

NEMA ICS standards have some standards for panel wiring diagrams.

But everyone has their own "standard" for wiring diagrams, it seems - at least in the US.

Your best bet is to specify what you want and include an example drawing. This is one area where you can't rely on standards or standard practice.
