Hello all. I came across a question while writing specifications for a project and was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction to find further information.
I have a client who is used to working on federally funded transportation projects subject to Buy America provisions. After some bad experiences with foreign manufactured steel, they have requested that all of their projects include the Buy America provisions including projects not transportation related nor federally funded. My question is can the Buy America provisions be applied in this case, or are there other regulations related to federal trade that would make preclude this restriction? If Buy America cannot be included as such, is there another act comparable to this or would the best way to handle this be to include individual material specifications?
