Dear All,

I am trying to set an initial impact velocity in modelling collision between two objects. I set BC/Velocity + instataneous. But the object moves at this specify velocity constantly (the velocity doesn't change). do you know why? or anything I did is wrong? Thanks a lot!

Hi, Rob. Yes. a contact interface was defined and it looks OK as the second subject was keep indented by the first one with a specified velocity (as defined in BC/Velocity). I checked the contact force and it keeps increasing. I thought there are something wrong with the velocity setting, but not sure. any advices?

I usually define the initial velocity in the first step (really short time if in explicit). Then I suppress it for the subsequent steps. The initial velocity does seem misleading to me however I might be missing something. I hope this helps.
