A good starting point for learning about speed humps is "Guidelines for the Design and Application of Speed Humps" by the Institute of Transportation Engineers. There are also a number of publications that include information about traffic calming measures such as speed humps. On of these is the "Canadian Guide to Neighborhood Traffic Calming" by the Transportation Association of of Canada. Both of these documents can be obtained throught the Institue of Transportation Engineers(http//
