I have pinged many companies trying to get an answer on how they test the strength and durability of their spherical bearings as I want to create a similar test to compare bearings from many sources. Are there standard procedures or equipment for testing these?

Thanks in Advance.

You might try the SAE. However if you are going to indulge in this expensive and interesting exercise I recommend you look at your real world loading, which will probably involve articulation as well as tension.

You also need to consider your failure criterion rather carefully. As an example I know of several joints that have lives many times that required, but if they are made any smaller then the boots over them fail, and the joint fails soon after.
