Good day:
I have a casting drawing that states SR on some places, the issues is that depending of other features sizes the SR is present or can be buried due MAX o MIN dimensional on those other features, does anyone know a note that can be placed on the drawing stating the SR is inspectable is SF is shown or present?

Thank you for your help

What is the purpose of the feature that doesn't have to be there?

According with the investigation, the way it was modeled the spherical radius will be seen in the nominal/minimal condition of the fillet but not in the maximum, that's why i need a note saying that the SR is inspectable only if shown or visible.

a purpose for the SR, i can not find it, but i assume is there to give extra material when machining.

thank you

How old is the drawing date wise.
One option ask for clarification from the customer.
If they insist then your stuck.

The reason I asked if this is a new drawing
There is more leeway for a BP change.

I will gladly assist anybody that needs help, but I refuse to approve moron notes on design prints or otherwise baby so-called "professionals" responsible for $$thousands-millions. If your print callouts allows everything from a sharp edge to radius then no note is needed. This is like the "break all edges" note that some add in addition to edge callouts - it makes you wonder if the designer/drafty understand the rest of the print.

If the quality dept wants to put a note on their process sheets or red-pen their local copy that's their decision, but I wouldnt add a note.

I have watched young engineers struggle as they try to interpret old/worn/dirty vellum drawings... to make their ultra-precise CATIA models.

Never hurts to have and 'old guy and a sample part' for reference...

It's not uncommon a process engineer will tighten tolerance while manufacturing to maintain attributes
On the drawing. This may be one of those cases.
