Spiky Part Explosion?

I have a model of a very simply bracket. When I make a change to the model, then go to the drawing, the model "explodes" into the spiky sea urchin you see in the attached image. Here's my process to make it happen (it is repeatable):

-File, Open part in SW (part looks as it's supposed to).
-File, Open part's drawing in SW (drawing looks as it's supposed to).
-Ctrl+tab to go back to part, and the part has transformed into the monster in the image.

Rebuild and redraw don't fix it. Anything as simple as edit an existing feature or sketch, or simply close and reopen makes the part look normal again; however, Ctrl+tab back to the drawing makes the drawing look as the second image.

If I close either the part or the drawing, and reopen, they open fine, and look as they're supposed to, it's when I try to edit something then it blows up. What am I doing wrong, and more importantly, are there any fixes short of recreating the part/drawing in a different file?

Does this happen to only the one part, or others also?

If others also, what are your system specs?

I can't post the parts or drawings because they're proprietary. I (think I) attached the images in this post.

I've had it happen to other parts on other machines, all with certified cards and drivers, but I haven't tried to repeat the circumstances, or fix the problem. I usually just close and reopen the part and/or drawing, and go on with my work. Like I said, the files don't seem corrupted in that I can still open them, it's just the display sometimes freaks out. Solidworks hasn't crashed on me because of this issue.

Stop throwing things at your monitor.

FYI to have an image in the post copy the URL from Step 3 from an attachment then type"
" and change getfile to download.

Also need to know the OS and SW version, and whether you have a specific (Dell, HP, etc) or home built/generic system.

That's graphics related. It may be that you've had SolidWorks running for a long period of time and drained the card's resources or the cards are running the incorrect certified driver.
Bear in mind that branded computers (HP, Dell, etc) may run a different driver for Card A versus the card manufacturer's approved driver.
