Sometimes proe wildfire works fine with smooth and fast zooms/spins/pans. However screen refreshing will become tediously slow on a regular basis. Some models can become affected while others are fine. Seems to affect new models more. Can be cured by restarting but is becoming a problem.

Sounds like a video card issue.

How many windows do you have open?
What video card are you using?

Was anything highlighted red when you were rotating the model, if it was then that might be the problem.

Try the config.pro option to set fast hidden line removal. In some cases it eases up the load on your video card, which may be why you are experiencing these long refresh times.

In Wildfire 2.0 it is called "fasthlr", set it to yes.
I believe in previous releases it was named differently, but run a search for "hlr" in the config options and you will find it.

Problem can occur with a few windows and not ata all with many open.

Graphics card is MVIDEA GeForce2 MX, 32 MB

What would be the best driver to use ProE?

Alan,

The problem is your video card is not supported by PTC and Nvidia most likely does not support that card with current drivers. go to this link---->

I have a Wildcat VP880 and it screams....I've used a lesser performing card and as a result had nothing but problems. It's time to upgrade.

I notice problem as soon as a model is opened. If I erase model from session and reload problem goes away. It will not start in a window currently open during a session but can occur with a window opened from a model currently in memory.

It happens to parts, assemblies and drawings.

Unfortunately re-opening dosent allways work.

Is there another work around?

Alan,

I subscribe also to all guys who suggest you to change the graphic card. Buy a true OPENGL card and all your problems will be gone.

There is no work-around to solve graphic issues.
