Hi,
I have a Amura-Seiki vertical machining center that the spindle stalls unexpectedly but the feed does not stop. This happens while the spindle/cutter is approaching the part to cut. It does not happen for every cycle. it happens intermitently. The machine can run for hours without this happening and then suddenly it happens causing some scrap. The problem is that the feed continues into the part and if you are not paying attention, it will run into the part and scrap it. Any idea why this is happening? I'm thinking into installing a spindle stall detector and somehow interlock it to the emergency stop so that feed stops if the spindle stalls. Any suggestions for any spindle stall detector?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
