Spinning about the Screen center- it works sometimes but not others.

I just upgraded all my workstation to WF 2.0 _64 bit build m160 from 2001 this pass week and I was doing some performance evaluation and I noticed some strange events. I have 50 to 60 parts - the entire liftgate of an SUV and I set the Spin center to "Screen Center" and NOT the Model center. I observed this, Sometimes the part would spin near the screen center axes. But sometimes it would spin about some far away center - a long red line would appear and the model would rotate off the sreen. I double check to see if the settings had changed, the screen center was selected. Has anyone else noticed this, or have some possible ideas how to fix it.
