A customers print has the following data for an internal involute spline but from what I and the hobbing house have determined is that either the dimensions are labeled incorrect or they are missing. Wondering if somebody could help me out here?
Fillet root side fit
# of teeth - 101
pitch - 40/80
PA - 30º, meas. between (2) .0502 dia pins 2.4415/2.4442
Form dia - 2.554
PD Basic - 2.525
Cir. space width - Min actual .0393/max. actual .0408
OD - 2.570/2.577
I think the most misleading info is the min/max actual dimensions. From what I've read those should be minimum effective space width and maximum effective tooth thickness or maximum actual space width and minimum actual tooth thickness.
The print was originally hand drawn in 1977 and I don't see where it calls out which spec to use to manufacture/inspect spline.
Based on the information given is it possible to determine which standard was used to give the spline data that I can give the hobbing house and gauge company so they can determine what they need? Or is everything there and some of the data is mislabeled?
