Hello All,

I am calculating a split muff coupling for a round shaft fitted with 3 bolts on each side. I need to calculate the pressure on the shaft surface in order to calculate the maximum torque to be transmitted (with a fricton coeffcient). I know the bolt load, but I am not sure about the resulting surface pressure. Can somebody provide any advice ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Force under a bolt is about (F = T / .21 * d)
As for fricton coeffcient I generial use 0.1 for steel on Steel.

I holpe that this helps
