First of all, i'd like you to excuse my ignorance ont he matter as i am particularly unfamiliar with family tables but have been thrown in at the deep end.

We have a variaty of parts created using the family table tool.
The top level is the parent (which has a unique identifier that is a phantom number) which has a dimension at X (variable)
Each child is then created, again with individual part numbers (production numbers) and the X dimension is given a value.

Due to a production change, the engineer now requires individual drawings that each have different characteristics, so would like to serperate the family tables drawing into seperate drawings.

Ideally, we would need to use the same part numbers, so would like to inidividually split the parts (even if we have to do each drawing from scratch), but as of yet, we havnt found a way? We are also unable to up-revise the children due to its links with the parent.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Regards

Adam

If you are working with the master model principle, try creating separate drawings like 110-01, 110-02 and 110-03 and substitute the template part (for ex. X) in each of these drawings with a member of the table. So X-A will be the model for 110-01 and X-B in 110-02 and X-C in 110-03. This way you can always revise them by updating the family table.

Best regards,

Michaël.

thanks for the suggestion, but ideally we need to keep to exactly the same number as the children as this is what is currently bought in from supplier. Previously if we have changed number (which is always our last resort), it has caused lots of issues (especially when dealing internationally).

The solution is:

You can CUT the child from the parent (which severs the link) and then edit the table in the master and remove the item (Which deletes it from the table in the drawing)

The Child then has its own PrtMaster
