Hi all,

A friend of mine was talking about Spool Lift, I asked him what it was but I didn't really get it. Could someone explain what it is please.

Thanks

Assuming you are talking about subsea field infrastructure then a spool is length of rigid pipe typically used to tie-in pipelines into other subsea assets, manifolds, XT, risers etc.

Spools are usually deployed by vessel crane after the main pipelines have been laid. This is a 'spool lift'.

I have no doubt the terminology may mean something different to someone else.
