Spray-Fireproofing on Galvanized Structural Steel 1

I am trying to determine if hot-dip galvanizing has any affect on the adhesion and quality of sprayed-on fireproofing. I've looked at the usual resources (galvanizeit.org etc) and haven't come up with anything definitative. Thanks in advance for the help.

I would suggest that you call a local fireproofer or s fireproofing manufacturer such as Grace to find out what prep work is required for galvanized steel. I would think at a minimum, it needs to be degreased.
 
May require a primer, too. Some coatings in contact with zinc create a 'zinc soap'.

Check Grace's Monokote MK-6 series
read section 3.2...consistent with dik's point of view.

An added level of assurance is the requirement for determination of cohesive/adhesive bond in the field by the SI...IBC Sec 1704.11.5
