I'm trying to find a reliable source for low-density fiber or cementitous spray on fire-proofing.
Can anyone recommend or suggest a tried and tested (successfully) brand name or manufacturer for structural steel spray on fireproofing? This is for indoor use at normal occupied building service temperatures.

I don’t know that you are looking for a specific product or manufacturer, so much as a local specialty contractor who does this kind of work. There is some new concern about the friability of the spray on fireproofing or how it’s protected from this fraying. There is also intumescent paint as an option depending upon what you are doing. I would talk to some local GC’s, fabricators or stl. erectors for some possible names of contractors who do this work. What about Goggle, I don’t have any names off the top of my head.

monokote mk6, use it for all our fireproofing, widely accepted and they will stand over the product. link below, shows product and coverage required by tables or if its uncommon shape a formula to work out coverage.Considerable cheaper than any intumescent paint i have ever come across.Special blend of this very product is currently used for fireproofing steel on the world trade center complex.

For healthcare design where a 2hr floor is common and all main structural steel is fireproofed, Monokote is the call.
