wich alloy can be quenched by "horizental water spray machine"?
where can these alloy be used in the industry?
what are some abilities of"horizental water spray machine"?

Just about any alloy. Whether or not such process is beneficial depends on what your goals are.

where can these alloy be used in the industry?
Which industry? I would imagine there would be rather limited use for such a piece of equipment in the Film Industry, for example.

From your post, I would guess the ability to spray water on a workpiece that is oriented in a horizontal position.


We could probably give you better answers if you would tell us what you are trying to accomplish.

picker, the film industry comment cracked me up like the cold lapped socket weld i'm looking at right now.
 
thank you for your help,and i would say that you are right, but my question is somehow basic.
well,The"horizental water spray machine"that we have is now only use to accomplish heat treatment on"roller of cold roll"
but I am looking more ability for it and searching to find more pieces of equipment to accomplish heat treatment on by the"horizental spray machine".
and trying to undsrstand what the uses of these pieces are.
 
What are the capabilities? Minimum OD? Maximum OD? Minimum Length? Maximum Length?
Do you have heating equipment, or only a spray quench? What are the temperature limits?
What is the production rate? If you can only process one 3 foot bar a day, you won't get much work.

 
You can quench lots of alloys depending on what you know how to heat treat. I would suggest most types of carbon steel are pretty simple to quench and don't really have too many surprises if you're testing your sprayer.

if you have hot rolled product or product coming out of a furnace you can use a spray quench on that as well.

The issue I feel you would have is controlling the cooling rate. You will have to carefully test and consider the flow rate of your quench media and its effect on cooling rate of your product.

but like redpicker said, if it can't handle large volumes it probably won't be very useful to you.
 
Redpicker, I build things for the film industry, and we don't have a machine for it, but sometimes we use a water spray to help us bend decorative steel plates by accelerated cooling of one side. Maybe it's a stretch, but there's something ;-)
 
Most hot rolled product gets spray quenched, both shapes and flats.
Often it isn't for metallurgical purposes as much as removing mill scale.
If you do it right you can force water under the scale and let the steam blow it off, without radically cooling the parts.
