- Is anyone aware of on-line spreadsheets doing the calssical geotechnical computations: bearing capacity, consolidation, earth pressure, mass-volume relationships, and other classical geotechnical formulas.
I am very clear with the underlying formulations and the philosphy on which these classical geotechnical things... are bulit... so i will be using these relations safely.
I am just trying to save time

The answer. Yes I have many of them. I wrote them myself and you might also do that. Good experience. Neat ways to simplify things, such as moisture content, but you need to have tables in there of your moisture tin tares. etc.

Using someone else's sheet may have some individual stuff that you don't need or with different basis, so doing your own permits you to customize it for you. Print outs also can be customized with company logo, etc.

Boring logs can be done on a template you make up, again for your own business.

The situation for global stability analysis may lend itself to spread sheets, but I'd go for the old standby STABL or an up-dated version for Windows (but still STABL).

geotechniqa,

Agree with OldestGuy. Write the spreadsheets yourself using any number of references out there for the equations. There are even commercial spreadsheet packages available, but these may be difficult or impossible to customize.

As an added bonus, you will get more skilled at using your spreadsheet software as you progress.

I agree. Write your own spreadsheets. It's hard enough to remember what is in your own spreadsheets, let alone what's in one written by someone else.
