Hi,

I haven't ever design a spring with this profile.
How would you create it?....
The dimension could be flexible(in value or units, mm/inch); the only requirement is to keep the shape from attachment as close as possible.

Thanks!

The example provided by AlexLoyzoya is a good approach to modelling a helical spring made from round section wire. Create a set of 2D and 3D curves defining the wire center, join them, and then sweep a circular profile normal to the joined curves.

Unfortunately, the parametrics of the model are not set up very well. With a parametric model like this spring, you will normally want to model the spring in at least three basic configurations- in a free length (as manufactured), in an installed length, and in a maximum compressed length. So there should be a single parameter input that will adjust the distance from the hook eye to the upper coil surface.
