Spring Simulation

Hi,

I am trying to simulate a spring going from a compressed state and expanding to move a slider piece. I cant seem to get simulation to do anything with springs. I'm confused as to the parameters for the spring end points. The help section gives no examples. Has anyone gotten this to work? Or know of anyhere where i can get some pointers? THanks.

thanks I'll check it out. Anyone have any ideas about doing this using Physical Simulation?

You could look at limit mates (they are the Advanced pulldown in the mate property manager). I don't think that it will get the spring stretching and compressing though.

no i dont think so either, but this can be done with physical simulation. Perhaps I'll check with my VAR this week.

I'm not sure i understand what this does? Do i have to move the spring?
