We have a development that will be designed / constructed on the downhill side of two springs about 250' apart. We will need to create a collection device to pick up runoff from the springs. Does anyone have any ideas how to estimate flows from springs?

I was able to hunt down some aerials during a 100-yr storm that gives a clue of what we might be dealing with during larger storms.

Do you have time to measure the flow rates? You can install a flume and observe the flow rate.

Can you consider building some ponds and then divert the outlet to a surface water drain system? That way, the ponds will allow some variation in flows as a buffer against excessive rain perhaps overloading your underground system at times

Flow rate in springs is difficult to measure with weirs if there is little head drop over the weir. Resort to how you roughly measure the flow rate of a stream, with a float, stopwatch and cross section info. That's with the flume mentioned.
