The contractor is installing his 1 1/2" branchline through a core in wood ceiling joist. The cores are approx. 2", does this allow for the proper movement in seismic catagory C. Is there any bracing required since the movement is fairly restricted? I am use to seeing pipe supported from threaded rods and never seen it installed thru wood members. The cores are properly placed to meet the IBC requirements.
