I am inspecting 1 1/4" sprinkler branchlines that are being supported from the structure overhead with 3/8" threaded rod. Is there a maximum lenght for the threaded rod ? I know rod stiffners are required on bracing however this is not bracing. The threaded rods are approx. 18' in lenght. Due to the wide corridors and other trades work overhead the contractor has installed his branchline restraints at approx.65 degrees from vertical with 12ga. wire. He has installed a seperate wire for each side. It is my understanding of the NFPA 13 2007 the wire must be one peice looped around the pipe.
