Has anyone heard of steel sprinkler system pressure tanks coroding on the interior due to electrical current? If so any technical articals which reference this.

The tanks are two years old (epoxy coated interior I beleive). The water is hard and is treated with dearboen chemical.

Tks

Yes, I have heard of this. Let me guess, the tank contractor has suggested that is the reason the interior coatings have failed in two years?

This is exactly what the contractor is saying. As well, he is saying that this is what is causing pitting in the tanks.

Is the contractor correct? And do you know of any technical articals which support this.

Tks

Sounds like a lousy paint job that is looking for an excuse. I am not aware of a technical article that would solve this problem. A coatings consultant is probably needed. Perhaps we could help.
