Sprinklers below escalators

I am designing the sprinkler system for a building with escalators that traverse multiple floors. As much as I would like to eliminate sprinklers from below the escalators, I don't think I can since they are greater than 4' wide. I attached a picture of a similar layout for the escalators to clarify. The floor opening around the escalators is much smaller in my case so I do have the vertical opening protection.

Am I missing anything here?

How many floors will you have.

Where do you think the sprinklers should be?

Four floors. I am thinking sprinklers would be required below the lowest level of escalatirs at a minimum, but again, I'm not 100 percent certain that they aren't required below additional levels.

Without scaled drawings I would say your answer is correct

What is the size of the opening

I think you should provide the sprinklers. I had this same issue at an airport. The Airport Code officials required it.
What the heck, how many more heads can it be?

Check with your fire marshal or fire department and the answer will be yes.

Definitely a fixed obstruction so sprinklers are required.

NFPA 13 states sprinklers are required under stairways as well [8.15.3] but also refers to escalators as 'moving stairways' so I would install sprinklers beneath them.
