Square Rubber cord cross-section compression

Hello,

I am trying to determine how much a rubber cord of a square cross-section will compress under a known load. I would also like to know approximately how much lateral expansion i should expect.. I ask because i am trying to design a channel for the cord to fit in to act as a seal, but the application is not for an o-ring shape. The shape of the gasket changes according to the part being used.
Any help regarding this matter is greatly appreciated...
