I calculated VLE of EDC-VCM mixtures based on a flush calculation of " Pressure, Temperature and the overall mol fraction (zi, the feed condition) are specified for the calculation.
If calculated φ = {vapor rate/(vapor rate + liquid rate)} after flushed is smaller than Zero or bigger than One, I can calculate φ between the range of 0 and 1 by decreasing or increasing the overall mol fraction. However, the calculated vapor and liquid mole ratio (yi and xi) are not affected by the overall mol fraction of zi. The same vapor and liquid mol fractions are calculated by "EDC/VCM = 0.2/0.8" and "EDC/VCM = 0.8/0.2" of zi (the overall mol fraction ). It occurs in any other parameter of pressure, temperature and zi.
-> Why are yi and xi not affected by the overall mol fraction of the overall mol fraction, zi?
