SS 316L with Carbon steel A106 GrB 1

Hello,

Could anyone explain me the corrosion problem in an array of pipes made of A106 GrB, where I connect terminal fitting (spray nozzle) and pipes of SS 316L?

How could I protect the terminal pieces of SS from corrosion (galvanic piles, pitting, etc)?

What is the chloride and oxygen content of the water? Is this system static most of the time?

You don't protect SS against gal. corr. when coupled with CS--it's the other way around. But SS will pit from chlorides faster and deeper than CS.

My system has an operational factor of 90%. The circulating water is pumping from a natural lake, only filter we have. The temperature is 100 ºF, aprox.
 
I think the corrosion potential at the nozzle/piping connection is minimal to non-existant, compared to what the dissolved oxygen in the lake water is going to do to the carbon steel pipe. After a few months, I think that the inside of the A106B will be just one big rusty carbuncle from end to end, with enough bits breaking off in the water flow to plug nozzles on a regular and on-going basis.
