In reference to the latest Technical corrigendum to table A.2 of ISO 15156:

1) Can one use SS 316 material (With out SSCC testing), if the design temperature is +220 Deg C (Service is varies between (-) 60 Deg C to (+)193 Deg c) and the absolute pressure is 150 Bars.

Service has 17000 PPM of H2S.

2) If the answer to the above is no, then can SS 316L material be used in the above service

3) Is it permitted to use SS 316L or SS 316 with SSCC test, in which cas what test (Tensile or Four Point bend test) is recommended and what should be the test condition?

4) Had the corrigendum not been there (That is, before the issue of Corrignedum) would it have been prohibited to use SS 316 in the above service condition (With out SSCC Test)

5) Had the corrigendum not been there (That is, before the issue of Corrignedum) would it have been prohibited to use SS 316 in the above service condition (With SSCC Test)

1. Technically, yes provided that the chloride concentration does not exceed 50 mg per litre and/or the equipment is downstream of the separation facilities again with a 50 mg per litre chloride concentration restriction. The question is: just because the standard says it is OK - do you trust it?

2. See 1 above and noting that ISO 15156-3 does not draw a distinction between S31600 and S31603.

3. Yes. EFC 17 will guide you in test method selection for the product and application. ISO 15156-3, B.3.5.1 stipulates the test environment requirements.

4. Yes

5. No (if you have succesfully tested it - how could it be prohibited?)

1) you can but see also the remarks of the table," no limits on individual parameters are set but some combinations of the values might not be acceptable." It's a yes but you have some risks of failure with some combinations of this parameters..
