I am considering purchasing STAAD.ETC but have noticed several outdated code references in their brochure. Has anyone experienced design results that would not meet current codes? Also, one of the main reasons for my interest in purchasing the program is its monolithic footing feature. Does anyone know of a similar program from another company? I have not been able to find one.

Hi Ajnoble

I am using STAAD for several year, they are updating regularly current codes, so I think you can contact nearest Research Engineers office and find out the details, if you find ok, it better to go with STAAD.Etc, because they are having lot of international code, in future updating is very easy.

the footing design is based on ACI-99. Wind load is ASCE 7-98. They need to update slightly, but it really doesn't change values much. ACI 318-02 concentrates on having a non-constant E so some of the formulas are slightly different. Also, design for T-beams have changed.
