Fellow Stress Engineers:

Roark (6th & 7th editions, tables 35 & 15.2 respectively) includes 6 cases covering the above condition, namely:-

a) All edges simply supported
b) All edges clamped
c) Edges b simply supported, edges a clamped
d) Edges b simply supported, one edge a simply supported, other edge a free
e) Edges b simply supported, one edge a clamped, other edge a free
f) Edges b clamped, edges a simply supported

Can anyone direct to formulations for cases similar to d & e, but with edges b clamped?

Thanks in anticipation.

BRUHN - Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures
Chapter C5, Figure C5.2
Your cases would be:
d) E (with dash lines)
e) D (with dash lines)

Dash lines refer to clamped loaded edges (that's also explained on that Bruhn figure).

You will also notice that between the 2 references "equations" and "K values" are slightly different for a sample 4edges simply supported case due to (π2*K/12) calculation. (K=4 in Bruhn, K=3.29 in Roark)

Taking this into account, you may convert all Bruhn constants to Roark constants as well.
